Joanne M. Hall, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor
Dr. Hall teaches graduate courses on philosophy
of science, theory and methods of inquiry. She has been engaged in women's
health research since her masters program in 1986. She has in the past focused
on substance misuse and lesbian health issues. Recently
her research in the area of women's mental health has focused on survivors
of childhood abuse and their strengths. She currently has a 4-year narrative analysis
project funded ($930,000) by the NINR through the R01 mechanism regarding thriving
in women child abuse survivors. There are several other nursing faculty and
students included on the multidisciplinary research team that is active on
